Key Venues.

High Street

While primarily a thoroughfare through downtown Morgantown, High Street periodically transforms into an outdoor event space for festivals and community gatherings. It hosts events like the annual International Street Festival, celebrating global cultures with food, music and dance. Closing off sections of the street allows for pedestrian-friendly events that draw the community together in the heart of the city.

Morgantown Metropolitan Theatre

The Morgantown Metropolitan Theatre, a historic landmark opened in 1924, was once known as “West Virginia’s Most Beautiful Playhouse.” This beautifully restored 1,300-seat neoclassical revival theater in Downtown Morgantown hosts a diverse range of live entertainment, including concerts, plays, films and community events. With a rich history and a commitment to the arts, the Metropolitan Theatre continues to be a cultural anchor for the region.

Morgantown Market Place

The Morgantown Market Place is a multi-functional, solar-paneled pavilion located in downtown Morgantown. On Saturday mornings, it transforms into the Morgantown Farmers Market, offering fresh, locally-grown produce and goods from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Hazel Ruby McQuain Park & Amphitheatre

Hazel Ruby McQuain Park is a scenic riverfront space in Morgantown, offering beautiful views and access to the Caperton Trail. Its centerpiece is the Ruby Amphitheater, a vibrant 1,500+ seat outdoor venue that hosts a variety of live concerts, festivals, and community events throughout the year. Established in 1999, the park provides a blend of nature, recreation and entertainment for residents and visitors alike.

Courthouse Square

The Monongalia County Courthouse Square has long been the heart of community gatherings.  Courthouse Square offers a historic, open-air backdrop to holiday tree lightings, community markets, concerts and festivals.
