A blank slate doesn’t come along often—but when it does, it opens the door for something big.
That’s exactly what’s happening on Morgantown’s east side. East End Village, formerly known as the Ridgewood Project, is moving into its next phase of development—and what was once an aging housing complex is now transforming into a vibrant, multi-use community space designed for living, working, and gathering.
David Biafora, the developer behind Suncrest Town Centre, is leading the charge with a vision rooted in local knowledge and long-term investment. “Our name is on it, so it has to be done the right way,” he said. “It’ll be here for a long time.”
What’s coming to East End Village?
Picture a place where people can live, work, bike, jog, walk, and spend the weekend all in one spot. That’s the vision behind East End Village. Using architectural renderings and a 3D walkthrough video, developers are giving the public a sneak peek into what the future holds—from building placement to how the area will connect to surrounding neighborhoods.
Once complete, the development is expected to host a mix of housing, commercial space, and community amenities that encourage people to stay, explore, and engage. Whether it’s for a convention, a weekend trip, or just an afternoon out, East End Village is designed to be a destination.
From demolition to development
The site is currently in the demolition phase, with old structures removed, land seeded with grass, and the area cleared in preparation for what’s next. Above-ground construction is expected to begin in 2026.
From there, developers anticipate a three- to five-year buildout for the full project.
“This has been in the works for a long time,” said one team member. “It’s going to take a lot of retaining walls and special engineering—but we’re committed to doing it right.”
Homegrown investment
One of the key advantages behind East End Village is the people leading it. Biafora Holdings isn’t a national firm parachuting in for a short-term build. They’re local—born and raised in Morgantown—and have built a reputation for thoughtful development with a deep understanding of the community and its needs.
Thanks to strong partnerships with the City of Morgantown, the Monongalia County Commission, and other local leaders, the project has gained steady momentum. And now, with demolition wrapping up and vertical construction on the horizon, East End Village is closer than ever to becoming a reality.
Stay tuned for more updates as the transformation continues.
