Public Schools

Monongalia County Schools is a highly rated, public school district located in Morgantown, WV.

Both Parenting and Expansion Management magazines have ranked the Monongalia County School System as one of the top public school systems in the nation.

The Monongalia County Board of Education governs the district, which educates over 11,000 students in grades PK, K-12, with a student-teacher ratio of 15 to 1.

West Virginia University

 

West Virginia University was established as the flagship land-grant institution of higher learning in West Virginia in 1867. The university has grown leaps and bounds in its almost 150 year history. It currently offers more than 190 degree programs from 15 colleges and schools and the majority of its more than 31,500 students attend classes from the university’s main campuses in Morgantown. The university has earned a reputation as a world-class research institution, draws the brightest minds in academics and leads the pack on cutting edge research and discoveries affecting a variety of industries.

 

West Virginia Junior College

 

West Virginia Junior College has grown to include four campuses throughout the Mountain State offering technical education in a variety of occupations including medical assisting, business administration, dental assisting, nursing, information technology and more. The school prides itself on providing a small school atmosphere where students are more than just a number. It’s also worked hard to develop valuable partnerships within many of West Virginia’s main industries to ensure its education mission remains aligned with their employment needs.
